Bethany Purvis
SENIOR DESIGNER + STUDIO COORDINATOR
After a decade of solo residential design, Bethany teamed up with JWD to focus on her greatest love: interior design in historic homes. Bethany spends her days detailing complex drawings, overseeing procurement and project management for clients, and knowing where everything lives at JWD.In addition to her Interior Design degree from Harrington College of Design, Bethany also boasts a background in photography and counseling. She applies all of these skills daily, closely collaborating with clients to ensure that every project reflects the people who dwell there, aesthetically and functionally.
Away from the office, Bethany’s starting a new furniture build project that would be cheaper to buy (obviously). Or learning a new skill she won't need (why?). Or (probably) chauffeuring her kids. Or (the best) on the couch with her two cocker spaniels.

Chelsie Benhoff
ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
Chelsie brings a history-informed skillset to JWD. While she double-majored in History and African Diaspora Studies at Loyola University Chicago, she found herself writing about historic architecture.
After graduation, she worked in marketing and hospitality, went to grad school to become a history teacher, then realized—“Wait. I’ve always been drawn to design.” So she went to design school during COVID and hasn’t looked back. Chelsie previously worked at small design firms and a design-build firm, where she honed her project management skills. She believes we’re stewards of older homes, that our homes should be joyful, and it’s okay to infuse them with our personality.
A dog-fosterer and rescue dog mom, Chelsie and her husband live in a 1906 Foursquare fixer-upper in South Oak Park, where they’ve DIYed most of it, including the landscaping.

Megan Jungles
CURATED CONCEPT DESIGNER
Meghan lends a creative eye to JWD, focused on building our Curated Concept program (JWD’s unique version of e-design) and putting the final styling touches on many of the firm’s projects.Growing up, Meghan spent hours on job sites thanks to her dad’s construction career. Seeing interiors come to life inspired her to obtain her Interior Design degree from College of DuPage.
When not building mood boards, Meghan enjoys transforming her older home using skills sourced from her work experience. Meghan also enjoys baking for fun, and takes pride in her growing family.

Julia Knier
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Julia and Jill met over 10 years ago when Julia was a rep at a stone and tile distributor, and they’ve worked together in some capacity since then. JWD designed the extensive renovation of Julia’s own kitchen. After its completion, Julia was excited to bring her skillset to JWD.Julia is a creative problem-solver who loves collaboration to create a client-centered experience.
Beyond work, Julia revels in cooking in her own JWD-designed kitchen, biking, and volunteering with sustainability organizations. Her commitment to sustainability shines so bright that she was recognized for leading green initiatives and awarded the community’s “2019 Green Award.”

Greta Kahn
CANINE DESIGN DIRECTOR
Greta brings her vast experience as an excellent sniffer-outer to our team, providing a “dog’s-eye view” for the projects where we have to plan for how the non-human members of a family will make use of their new interiors. She also brings levity and, let’s face it, an overflowing quantity of cuteness, when she decides she’d rather work from the office than from home. She loves meeting with clients, welcoming scratches and pets if you’re willing to provide them.
