The assignment: Convert an unused backporch into useable indoor space, reconfigure the kitchen layout, add a work space, a big island, add subtle asian details and bold color, but make it feel natural in an early 1900’s home. Easy peasy!
This kitchen space was completely reconfigured to allow space for a big island for 4 stools, a larger 6-burner range, and tons of cabinet storage. Take a closer look at the unique and intricate backsplash pattern!
Nooks for everything! A work space sits seamlessly next to a pantry and bar area with built-in beverage refrigerator.
The cleverly designed work space does heavy duty hiding all of the office must-haves including a printer pull-out inside the base cabinetry. A William Morris wallpaper accent is featured along with the owners collection of chinoiserie vases.
The breakfast nook features a blend of modern furnishings, a vintage-style rug, and rattan furniture with asian influences, all overlooking the back yard.
Here in the mudroom packed with tons of shoe and coat storage and beautiful quartersawn oak cabinetry, the king of the house enjoys his view of the kitchen and the outdoors.
The adjoining dining room features a bold asian-inspired wallpaper, deep blue painted trim and all new furnishings.
The neutral yet textural furniture palette let the bold and colorful wallpaper steal the show in this room.
The first floor full bathroom features the William Morris wallpaper, a large scale hexagon floor, and black fixtures.
